Site Credit Explained
Learn how sportsbook site credit differs from cash and bonus bets: withdrawal rules, stake return, rollover, and real value estimation.
Three balance types
Cash is withdrawable and returns stake plus profit on wins. Bonus bets return profit only. Site credit sits in between — usable to bet but often not withdrawable until rolled over or converted per house rules.
Some operators label credit as "bonus cash" with stake return on wins; others mirror bonus-bet behavior. The name on screen is not enough — read terms.
Expiry and rollover
Site credit frequently expires in days or weeks. Rollover may require additional handle before winnings become cash. Unused credit disappears — treat deadlines seriously.
Partial conversion is common: only winnings above the credit amount become withdrawable after one successful bet, while the credit stake itself is consumed.
Estimating value
Discount face value for expected juice paid during rollover. If credit behaves like bonus bets on wins, use bonus bet conversion math. If it behaves like cash after rollover, model handle required to clear.
Split balances across books carefully — credit trapped at one operator has zero value elsewhere until converted to withdrawable cash.
When credit is misleading
A large site credit balance can encourage over-betting to clear it before expiry. Treat credit like a coupon with conditions, not free money. Responsible bankroll rules still apply.
